CORREA+FATEHI-ODD+ Lucas Correa contributes 3 tons in carbon credits to fund sustainable projects
Press Release
Quito, Ecuador: Lucas Correa Sevilla, partner and founder of CORREA + FATEHI | ODD, recently received his Voluntary Cancellation Certificate issued by the UN. We are incredibly proud as this achievement reflects our ongoing efforts to create eco-efficient architecture and contribute to sustainable development.
The Certified Emission Reductions (CERs) contributed by Lucas Correa amount to 3 tons of carbon credits, offsetting the estimated CO₂ emissions per capita in Ecuador (2.59 tons of CO₂ per capita in 2022, according to Our World in Data).
Carbon credits are internationally recognized instruments that fund sustainable projects such as forest conservation or renewable energy generation. These initiatives capture or avoid CO₂ emissions equivalent to those being offset. In this case, the credits support the Vaayu India Wind Power Project in Tamilnadu.
“In our increasingly populated world, where species face greater risks than ever, we strive to create designs that reconnect urban dwellers with nature through technology, materials, processes, and design methodologies. We also aim to give back to nature by incorporating responsible design and construction strategies,” says Lucas Correa Sevilla, Founding Partner of CORREA + FATEHI | ODD.
