Architect and Urban Designer, Lucas obtained his Master of Architecture in Urban Design from Harvard University (With Distinction). In 2014 Lucas co-directed the urban and territorial planning division for the 2015-2025 Metropolitan Plan for Development and Territorial planning of Quito (PMDOT). In 2016 he assumed the role of Director of Strategic Urban Planning for the Metropolitan Institute of Urban Planning (IMPU) with the purpose of developing the Vision of Quito 2040.

Since founding ODD in 2015, Lucas's work has garnered both national and international acclaim. His recognitions include the Premio al Ornato Ciudad de Quito in 2015 and 2021, multiple A+ Awards, Architecture MasterPrize, WAF, and selection for the prestigious Venice Architecture Biennale in 2016, with creations that are distinguished by their sculptural form and artistic conception, purposefully evoking a sense of sublime beauty that resonates with the unique sensations and emotions inspired by the Andean geographical context.
